The Camellias

Here are a few shots of the Camellias from the High Dive in Seattle. They are a great band it if you ever get the chance. I liked these shots because they show off Scott's shoes.

Plus, I still think the high contrast of Fuji NeoPan 1600 is amazing.

Abe Vigoda at The Vera Project Seattle

Another night of bands at a cool venue. Despite being 'All Ages' the Vera Project is a great place to go if you are 21+. There are a lot of bars surrounding it for a drink before and after the show. Plus, the stage area is open and never feels super packed even with a healthy crowd.

I went down there on a whim after checking their line-up and after dealing with some bland overly reverb'd lameness from one band and ear splitting cacophony from a distorted violin a pleasant surprise finished up...

Abe Vigoda is a classic sounding punk band from LA. And, they embody that sound to the 'T' which is a great thing.

As for the shoot Vera has some interesting light and I think that grabbing it in flares or silhouettes is where I tend to go when I'm there. It isn't as dark as some other places too which is nice.

Cold War Kids

Here are a few shots of the Cold War Kids. I wasn't really expecting to shoot since I didn't even know about the show until a couple hours before it started. But with a few rolls of Neopan 1600 and just my 50mm 1.4 I headed to the theatre to see what I could grab.

I would also like to thank Starr Harris for the pass to the show. Also, stay tuned to the blog for a few articles about 'The Ethics of Documentary' and some photos from a recent shoot I did in Pakistan.

Run and Gun

After two different cake hats and a whirlwind scooter ride all over Seattle I was able to have a wonderful shoot.  Siri Anderson put everything together and she made it all happen seamlessly.

The first cake was of the Museum of Glass the final was this rendition of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge with Mt. Rainier in the background.

When it came to shooting we bailed on the bowling alley to catch the last bit of sunset on the bricks because it was such nice light.  Snap...Snap...Snap and we were done.  My only regret was that I didn't have a roll of Astia with me.

I have some big news to tell all three of you too.  But it will have to wait a few days.

A few more bands

I grabbed a few shots for the guys over at Art of The Mix during a  Nada Mucho Music Monday in Seattle.  It's every Monday night at The High Dive.

The first set of images of the Moss Campions a two man low key singer songwriter kind of thing from North Bend Washington.

That same night there was a band from Bellingham Washington called CrossFox a great general rock band.

Who doesn't like a dynamic drummer??

All the shots were set under flat and low lighting with an ASA of 1600 and shutter speeds around 1/40th of a second.

Just as a reminder.  Look for some major things coming soon both here and at AdamForslund.com

Just a quick Update

Things are rolling along on a whole new website for AdamForslund.com which will be live soon. It will feature some new images and a new demo reel as well.

In the coming months look to my Virb account to see updates from my casual shooting. Another good spot for updates is my Twitter feed you can see here or better yet subscribe.

I will be shooting a few lighting tests that came to mind after seeing a great exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum. They will be pretty cool if all goes as planned. There is some great stuff to rip off in paintings.

That is about it for now.

'The Whore Moans'

The Whore Moans are a great rock band from Seattle.  They have a sound that is laking these days.  Where did all the Rock go??  In a world of weak emo-trash The Whore Moans manage to pound out some solid tunes on their latest album Hello From the Radio Wasteland.

These shots were for Sound Magazine and their lead review.

Enjoy...
